@r0bre: To check your Ledger Nano X for an implant, open the case

AI summary of the linked article

The author, @r0bre, says a Ledger Nano X can be checked for a hardware implant by opening its case and inspecting the board. The steps are to pry open the case with a sharp object, check that the display connects directly to the mainboard with nothing in between, and confirm nothing but the mainboard sits behind the display. The post says known attacks exploit a weakness at the security boundary between the mainboard and display, and that the mainboard's back should hold only the battery. It adds that different product generations can look different.

I‘m extremely close to trying this but tbh I don‘t want to end up with a broken ledger 😂

At some point they will break spontaneously, I already had a Ledger Nano S, like the old one with the blue screen, die on me. So don’t throw away those seed frases :)
