@vitalik: proposal for secret UN voting to reduce global power dynamics

Not sure I understand how this would work game theoretically with „Offensive realism“ in mind. In democracy, I‘m told, you can also spend money to persuade voters, so 1 democratic vote has a USD value because of secrecy and anonymity. So in fully secret and anonymous elections on the UN level, wouldn‘t you run also into the problem of vote buying?

When the votes are secret and anon, it's much harder prove people actually voted the way they promised, compared to open voting under their names. So if you buy a vote, you always risk that someone will just lie they're going to support you, and vote otherwise. Ofc it doesn't mean people wouldn't try to buy votes, but by making it more risky, it should theoretically disincentivize it a bit.

I meant vote buying through persuading people, not bribery

You also can't verify if you persuaded them effectively, as they can claim they voted for your cause but do otherwise, no?

Persuasion can be measured. And it is anyways already happening on a country basis. So one nation is just being psyopped by another based on who can spend more to manipulate, for example, media etc.

Honestly I also find it very absurd that my country votes anonymously in an UN vote. So how are they accountable to me as the voter in that case? Do I have to trust that they vote in the interest of the majority government. Sometime I really wonder if Vitalik should still be considered part of the good guys
