The Word Product I've Ever Reviewed (Humane pin) (youtube.com)
I feel like this is unnecessarily harsh. After all, that is a completely new product, and it uses components that have (to my knowledge) never been used before in this kind of packaging. It may be really bad, but it's a start, or not? There are so many problems with this gadget that it seems they shipped it prematurely just to ride the AI wave. @Tim I think the times are such to backslash all the dumb ideas and very bad POC people do to ride the AI hype. Its not like this is a random product - but the hype has been around for more than a year. Should've seen this coming. Interesting. I actually didn't pay any attention to the hype and generally thought the hype was super stupid. And now that I see MKBHD review it, I obviously knew about the product, but I feel like it is a genuine attempt at creating something new and exciting. Then I guess if this had been launched without the online hype, it would have done better in reviews, huh? I think so. The higher the expectations, the stronger the buyer's remorse when the product doesn't meet them. I think the many years of hype and cryptic marketing and then highly polished product marketing videos increased expectations to make this feel like a huge letdown. If they had more humbly built it, I think people would have more grace. For example, I think the Rabbit R1 will get more leeway. I dont think it would be better in reviews - just everybody would label it as a useless in the long run and there would not be as much controversy around it.
