I’m wondering if there wouldn’t be a low hanging fruit use case for blockchain tech here. What if you build a camera that would immediately produce an IPFS hash from the image data and upload and mint it to a blockchain? Then you’d have to use software that registers the provenance and each iteration is hashed and minted so the image builds a transaction history you could read on a block scanner. If you’d use it in the media you’d have to provide a verifiable link to this history and you would be able to trace the image back to the root. Proof of reality to restore trust in images.
