I'd be really curious to learn what Vitalik thinks about it since he's the father of the rollup roadmap. I agree with this 'user relationship takeover' risk for L2s. In business, one of the most universal rules is that who controls the relationship with the customer controls the money. It's true for many industries - from grocery stores, through cars, up to Swiss watches, where the Point of Sale typically makes more margin than the producer. And if we want blockchains to be almost invisible to the user, then the question is, what, in e.g., 2027, would stop L2s from launching their token and settling on Celestia?
