gm gm what's on your mind today? so far we discussed crypto investments going to memecoins instead of really valuable projects, middle class getting behind in the economy, Big Tech's impact on the world and the US Empire State of Mind

One thing that's on my mind for sure is the popularity of the "Free Ross" meme in crypto. Why do people support him so much? Because he was a Bitcoin OG and run the libertarian's wet dream business of selling everything you want? To me, he's just a drug kingpin who also ordered murders (at least according to this article: https://www.wired.com/2017/05/silk-road-creator-ross-ulbricht-loses-life-sentence-appeal/), so why would we let him free?

Not sure if it'll actually bring in many new people as some claim. Seems unlikely in my view ^^

ヽ(*⌒▽⌒*)ノ Seems like oldschool emojis work! Re: DeFAI, I gotta say that rebrand from "trading bots" to "AI agents" is the most successful stunt of 2024. I see some potential there, especially when it comes to analyzing sentiments and being able to bounce off your trading ideas, but it seems like a very narrow use case.

(◔_◔)🍔🍕 What if you would normalize referring to Ethereum as the world computer (instead of the chain, blockchain)? Could it also help understanding the tech and adoption by the crowds? (I know folks love rebranding in crypto ;))

I second that @mishaderidder.eth. I think world computer is more accurate and differentiates Ethereum from Solana which wants to be a more efficient NASDAQ. I noticed that the @ethereum Twitter account changed their bio to this: "Ethereum is the world computer. The universal platform for cryptocurrencies, blockchain apps, stablecoins, and decentralized technologies." So seems like the EF is on board :)

Also, the blockchains = computers analogy have been close to my heart since about 2021-2022 when I heard Chris Dixon using it. Even wrote an essay about it some time ago: https://kanfa.macbudkowski.com/blockchains-as-computers

In light of Elon‘s salute and power upgrade (becoming part of the established government powers), do we think that his rockets will still do well? I could imagine all sorts of scientists suddenly making accidental mistakes in calculations and so on… - 1: https://news.kiwistand.com/stories/Elon-Musk-did-the-Nazi-salute-on-live-TV-to-prove-he-could?index=0x6790cecc15d39febfc57a6438c18cab53d17906102aafbe6755bdb8c6cd8d25c2a26971f

Idk, Nazi rockets were the best ones, and operation Paperclip is the main reason why the US went to the Moon 😂 But jokes aside, I have mixed thoughts about it. SpaceX has been an organization very close to the government - you have to get clearance to even work there. So I guess their employees got used to this and to Elon's political engagement. And now SpaceX will probably get even more money for ambitious projects which might actually attract more talent. On the other hand, Elon taking a more polarized stance might be problematic, for the same reason it was problematic for woke organizations - you just limit your access to the talent pool because for some people it is a problem. And if you want to compete at this level you need the best of the best, so losing even a few of these rocket engineers might be a problem.

I mean since the election was roughly 40:60 or smth, I think there are enough patriotic Americans left that may pass the clearance and fulfil, in their eyes, their patriotic duty. > Idk, Nazi rockets were the best ones, and operation Paperclip is the main reason why the US went to the Moon 😂 Were they? In my life the only notable rockets that I ever heard about were either Russian or American.

> "I mean since the election was roughly 40:60 or smth, I think there are enough patriotic Americans left that may pass the clearance and fulfil, in their eyes, their patriotic duty." true, even if we assumed there are more Republicans than Democrats working in rockets (which idk if is true even because lots of aerospace is in LA which is blue), there's probably still many non-Trump supporting SpaceX employees. > "Were they? In my life the only notable rockets that I ever heard about were either Russian or American." Yeah, the V2 rockets were the best during WWII, and the US imported 1,500+ Nazi engineers after the war to supercharge American rocket development. Some of them even worked on Saturn which sent American astronauts to the Moon. There's been this joke that Americans won the rocket race with Soviet Union because they had better Germans :)

Btw changing the subject a bit: I think Miladys are well-positioned to become Cryptopunks of this cycle. So you know any ways to get exposition to them without spending 5+ ETH on an NFT?
