This is what got me on Farcaster.

The whole "Farcaster is a social network, not a social media" narrative was very accurate in the beginning. But when it started to grow, I felt like the Merkle team hasn't figured out how to keep these vibes. So this promise was broken, and it started feeling to me like just another social media app.

That being said, I am optimistic - both woj and ted understand community building very well and I believe they might find a way to bring back the great vibes.

Same! Tbh FC is just not a good way to share product updates as a builder though. Imagine I could pin posts better and it‘d be less ephemeral what I post and I‘d exactly reach everyone from Kiwi, like on TG, I‘d use it much more to communicate what I implemented!

Appreciate the comments, guys. I think the recent moves and new focus on growth and onboarding are encouraging, but it is tough to keep those vibes. I think you have to find the right places and groups. And Tim, I think it is hard for builders b/c in my experience FC isn't a place to just drop in with a cast or two. But why set the goal post to be an X replacement? At least for now it‘d seem that if builders/devs would get a lot of reach for the achievements they post, that‘d be quite interesting for them. OK, the question is if anyone would want to consume this…
