rvolz.eth commented on Rise of the Status Eceonomy
The status economy is an aspect of Shapiro's thesis about Post Labour Economics (or Post AGI Economics), see this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD5GlCIS0sA if interested.
The status economy came up with web2, but with crypto/web3 it got revived and...
hotkartoffel.eth commented on Rethinking the startup MVP: Building a competitive product
i'm not sure what these ideas bring to the table.
an mvp is an minium *viable* product. viability means something different for every product. i think people are getting hung up on the idea that a mvp needs to look like crap.

macbudkowski.eth commented on Juicebox protocol financials
Juicebox made over $3M in fees, which is a solid result.
Ofc a significant % was generated in the last bull run, probably fueled by the ConstitutionDAO. But even in the depths of the bear market, they made a few thousand dollars per week.
Their model is...
timdaub.eth commented on Rethinking the startup MVP: Building a competitive product
IDK; I think the main point here confirms my thesis about building Kiwi News, too. We're out-iterating many competitors, and we've never just built something to "impress" someone like, for example, an investor. So, in that sense, the article delivers. It...
timdaub.eth commented on Rise of the Status Eceonomy
This is super good! Thanks for sharing rvolz! I already knew about the Girardian status game of prestige and memetic desire, but this video does a far better job of unbundling many of these ideas. Really great resource for understanding how society works!
rvolz.eth commented on Thoughts on Dune’s business model
"Dune’s free plan is and will remain powerful." As exemplified by Kiwi's use of that plan.
timdaub.eth commented on Farcaster Frames transactions spec is ready for feedback
Agreed. I actually also think that there could be A TON of inbound requests to transaction frames in the beginning as a large part of the user base is going to test out what can be done. So I'd assume many actually just download the Coinbase Wallet to try it...
macbudkowski.eth commented on Normie sees $60,000 bitcoin
In the last bull run, I had exactly these conversations with my friends. They were like, "Oh, I can buy so much Cardano for $500, why would I buy 0.01 BTC?".
mishaderidder.eth commented on EIP-2981 — Simple and effective royalty standards for all
Yes, I know, it exists since 2020.
But no one is using it for art it seems.
Or maybe a good question is, does anyone know great art projects that have implemented ERC-2981 ?

macbudkowski.eth commented on Rethinking the startup MVP: Building a competitive product
I had the same impression - this essay had a lot of potential, but they should've dived deeper into this subject.

macbudkowski.eth commented on Communications breakdown
I don't care too much about Aave's governance, but it was a really enjoyable read. I wish more stories came out in that style.
thatalexpalmer.eth commented on Rethinking the startup MVP: Building a competitive product
While these ideas could have been developed further, the articulation of every single one of them leaves a lot to be desired. They're theoretical, and seem to have few roots in reality or actual working experience. Intriguing, but altogether uninspired.
destiner.eth commented on Farcaster Frames transactions spec is ready for feedback
I think the adoption will be very gradual (as it requires trusted tx data providers and I think Coinbase Wallet Kit integration), but the spec itself is very liberal in terms of what is allowed and what's not.
I see this being a major source of transactions...
freeatnet.eth commented on EIP-2981 — Simple and effective royalty standards for all
ERC-2981 has existed for a while and most NFT marketplaces support it.
I’m still wondering when marketplaces are going to adopt ERC-2981 so we all can get our royalties.

timdaub.eth commented on Discover, Research, Swap: Uniswap’s All New Explore Tab
Mhh, I'd say the reason why Uniswap is lately capitalizing on more tightly integrating the user experience is also because of the fee switch. If you control the website, you control the fee flow. Remember that post from Micah Zoltu recently that stated that...
macbudkowski.eth commented on Discover, Research, Swap: Uniswap’s All New Explore Tab
I think you're right. This move goes in sync with Uniswap Foundation moving forward with the idea of dividend sharing with $UNI token holders:...
freeatnet.eth commented on Discover, Research, Swap: Uniswap’s All New Explore Tab
I feel like this is a bigger deal than it seems on the surface! An "Explore" page seems pretty obvious for an exchange, and yet Uniswap hasn't implemented it before. Why? I wonder if that was done to avoid being seen as offering specific tokens to the public...

timdaub.eth commented on Inside shl0ms’ Viral “Sunsetting Gmail” Hoax and Conceptual Art
Conceptually, I just loved this one. I laughed when I saw it on the timeline and also spread the misinformation. It was beautiful.

macbudkowski.eth commented on Inside shl0ms’ Viral “Sunsetting Gmail” Hoax and Conceptual Art
That's a great observation. I found this screenshot on Twitter (shared by a reputable 100k+ followers account), and when I submitted it to Farcaster, it got debunked in about 5 minutes.
Seems like for hoax artists, social apps are the canvases they need to...

mishaderidder.eth commented on Inside shl0ms’ Viral “Sunsetting Gmail” Hoax and Conceptual Art
On Farcaster I noticed first reactions were skeptical and mostly people didn’t fall for it. Actually in the process I think shlOms accidentally doxed themselves, fc still being a small community. I think for a hoax like this to be really successful you need to...
"Nobody would panic about a hoax which they think can't possibly be real—and that is the point."

macbudkowski.eth commented on Dencum upgrade scheduled for Mar 13 - lower Ethereum fees coming
L2s are already cheap, most people say Dencun will further lower the fees by 3-10X. Wondering why anyone would use these superfast cheap ghost alt-L1 chains after this upgrade
