Announcing PiBoWriMo 2026

The Protocol Institute is launching PiBoWriMo 2026, a book-writing event modeled on NaNoWriMo, to push more books about protocols into existence. Participants register on the Institute's website, create a project tagged PiBoWriMo, and can join a kickoff on the Institute's Discord on November 2nd, with check-ins, a wordcount leaderboard, coworking sessions, and peer mentorship. The article says the field needs far more books, noting that only five general nonfiction books on protocols are known, including Alexander Galloway's Protocol (2006), and that Protocol Fiction has only about half a dozen story cycles or anthologies.
