Consensys - global perception of web3; a survey of countries

Consensys and YouGov surveyed 15,158 people online across 15 countries in April and May 2023 and found strong awareness of cryptocurrency but much weaker awareness of web3. According to the report, 92% of respondents globally have heard of crypto, while only 24% are familiar with web3 and just 8% consider themselves very familiar with it. Despite this gap, 83% say data privacy is important, 79% want more control over their online identity, and 67% believe they should own what they create online. Only 38% feel adequately compensated for their contributions.
