Everything is purple

Farcaster, a protocol for building decentralized social networks, is presented as a response to platform lock-in, with users owning their data and content and relationships able to move between apps. In an interview with ZINE, co-founder Dan Romero describes the project's open approach as similar to how Linux spread through the technology stack without most users noticing it. Purple DAO, an independent group devoted to building Farcaster tools, was started by Chris Carella and Osama Khan, and Romero says its independence is healthy for Farcaster.
