Geth v1.16.4 enables the Osaka (Fusaka) fork on the Holesky, Sepolia and Hoodi testnets, along with two blob-parameter-only (BPO) forks on each. Osaka activates on Holesky on 2025-10-01, on Sepolia on 2025-10-14 and on Hoodi on 2025-10-28, with BPO1 and BPO2 following on each network. BPO1 raises blob capacity to a maximum of 15 blobs per block with a target of 10, and BPO2 raises it to a maximum of 21 with a target of 14. The release also sets the default block gas limit to 60M gas, which the article describes as the limit its client authors are comfortable with.
