Starting today, the trending feed will be removed from Farcaster apps. Trending was launched a few years ago to help user discovery. Since then we've added better ways to discover users: in-feed suggestions, rewards leaderboards and algo recommendations. Fewer than 5% of users check the trending feed everyday, and the algo we use for trending is no longer helpful for discovering new users. In the spirit of simplifying the app, we're removing this feature which has long outlived its purpose.

AI summary of the linked article

Farcaster is removing the trending feed from its apps, effective today. The company says trending was launched a few years ago to help user discovery, and that newer tools such as in-feed suggestions, rewards leaderboards and algorithmic recommendations have since taken over that role. It states that fewer than 5% of users check the trending feed daily and that its trending algorithm is no longer helpful for discovering new users, so the feature is being removed to simplify the app.
