AI-generated 'All Eyes on Rafah' online movement provokes debate

The "All Eyes on Rafah" image, an AI-generated graphic shared on Instagram, has spread widely and sparked debate over whether such online activism matters. The viral template was created by Instagram user @shahv4012 and had been shared by 39.9 million accounts at the time of writing, including celebrities Kehlani, Nicola Coughlan and Varun Dhawan. Critics call the mass posting performative, noting it links to no resources or funds, and some say the AI-generated image distracts from real footage of violence in Rafah. Others argue the message and momentum are needed regardless of the means.
